About me

I’m co-founder and CTO at MorphL – a platform that uses Machine Learning to predict users’ behavior in mobile & web applications. MorphL is my second startup, I’ve also co-founded Appticles, a platform for creating Progressive Web Apps.

Before starting Appticles, I have owned an outsourcing company together with two university colleagues. After we have raised a seed round for Appticles at the beginning of 2014, we have exited from the outsourcing company and focused only on our startup.

I’m an alumni of two business accelerators – Startupbootcamp in Copenhagen / Denmark and Prosper Women Entrepreneurs in the U.S. Prosper inspired me to become a co-founder at Codette (an organization that encourages diversity and educates girls to choose a career in Computer Science). In 3 years, the Codette community has grown to 2000 members and more than 5K followers. We have organized over 30 programming workshops across Romania, for high-school and university students. Our portfolio also includes meetups, conferences, summer schools for middle-schoolers and last year, our first ML/AI hackathon.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Automatics Control and Computer Science from the University of Politehnica Bucharest/Romania and over 10 years experience in frontend, server-side programming (Python, JavaScript, PHP) and DevOps.

It would be an understating to say I “like” programming. Life is a series of choices and programming was my choice. I imagine that those people who say that programming is tedious haven’t had a chance to really try it out :).

As a startup founder, I believe I have the duty, but also the privilege, to understand the business side as well. The hardest thing I ever did was my first presentation on stage at Girls in Tech, Paris, 2012, but my effort paid off when I was rewarded with the second prize for the competition. Maybe a day will come when I will be able to present on stage without being nervous, but I’m not there yet :).

I’m an avid reader and I have been all my life. Recently I have discovered my passion for writing, although it’s sometimes hard to be inspired when you’re caught between lines of code.

If I had a motto, it would be as follows: success is not random, but the result of a lot of hard work, an ounce of talent and some good luck :).
